PROCESS

I begin each painting by arranging several birch wood panels into a desired shape, noting the importance of the negative space. Utilizing a controlled pouring technique that blends mineral spirits, oil paint, latex paint, and a stiff oil based ink, I establish several color fields. Many pours are required to achieve the right balance and intensity of color. The surfaces are then sanded and varnished, adding colorful hand painted patterns to compliment the loose color fields.
